• Meeting place for cruisers: Your professional driver will pick you up on the pier next to your ship at 8:00 AM, holding a sign with your name.You return to your ship by 5:00 PM

• Meeting place for travellers: Your professional driver will pick you up from your hotel at 9 AM, and bring you back approximately 5:00 PM.

• Available: all year round. This tour to Ostia Antica and Cerveteri is not offered on Mondays since the Banditaccia Necropolis in Cerveteri are closed to the public on Mondays.

TOUR DESCRIPTION
Not too far from the Eternal City midst the tranquil countryside of Rome lay the last vestiges of Ancient Rome’s and Etruria’s greatness: Ostia Antica and the Banditaccia Necropolis in Cerveteri.
Ostia Antica
The excavations of Ancient Ostia are quite extensive and more than rival those of Pompeii. This amazing site gives you a clear sense of what a Roman city must have been like. Throughout the site you can see the layout of roman houses, temples, shops, theatres, etc., boasting numerous marvelous mosaics that decorate the pavements, many of which are still perfectly preserved. They provide us with a goldmine of information on roman life. For a delightful panoramic view of the site, venture up the steps of the theatre, founded in the age of Augustus.
Cerveteri
The most famous attraction is the Necropoli della Banditaccia which has been declared UNESCO World Heritage Site. It covers an area of 400 ha, of which 10 ha can be visited, encompassing a total of 1,000 tombs often housed in characteristic mounds. The necropolis of Banditaccia is the largest ancient necropolis in the Mediterranean area, and constitutes the most important Etruscan burial ground and one of the greatest archaeological complexes of the classical world. A visit to this area is a must for those interested in understanding the evolution of western civilization. The town also offers a very charming medieval backdrop for a nice stroll or a quiet outdoor lunch in an ancient square

Due to strict Italian laws & regulations that protect officially licensed guides, our drivers can only comment and explain the sights from inside the vehicle, and are not allowed to do so once they are outside the vehicle. A Professional licensed guide, where needed, can be hired on request at an extra cost.

• The tour sequence may be altered to avoid congestions but always covering mentioned sights.

• Often are drivers and tour guides do not have a POS on board. You can use your credit card(s) at easily found ATM machines to withdraw cash. Your driver can show you where to find one. You get the cash just when you need it. The exchange rate is very convenient and it is the same rate applied when you purchase something with your Credit Card

CANCELLATION POLICY:

• No charge will be applied for cancellations made up to 7 days prior to the service date

• Cancellations made 7 days prior to the service date: 50% charge’

• Annulament made 48 hours prior to the service date: 75% charge’

• Cancellations made 24 hours of less or no show: 100% charge’
