TOUR DESCRIPTION – THE GODFATHER IN ITALY
Savoca was chosen by Francis F.Coppola to stand in for the less photogenic Corleone. When Michael and his two companions are walking in the hills, they see this picturesque village in the distance. Enjoy its peaceful atmosphere and the stunning views over the sea from the piazza. A scenic drive runs inland to Savoca which is considered to be one of the most attractive places in the environs of Taormina. Bar Vitelli with a gorgeous terrace, has a collection of photographs taken when Francis Ford Coppola shot some scenes of “The Godfather II”. The table where Micheal Corleone sat to ask the padrone for the hand of his delightful daughter Apollonia is still there. After Michael’s wedding, they walk down from the church to this Bar on the piazza for the reception. Free time for a “granita” in the Bar Vitelli then we walk to the Chiesa Madre with its fine 16C portal surmonted by a beautifully carved oculus and the coat of arms of Savoca, bearing the eldeberry branch from which the name of the town is supposed to derive. Optional lunch in a winery.The tour will continue to Forza d’Agr� an attractive medieval hamlet caps the furthermost spurs of the Monti Peloritani with a splendid view of the coast. In 1990, Al Pacino and Sophia Coppola shot some scenes of the film”The Godfather III.

• This tour includes a Professional English-speaking driver that gives commentaries of the sites seen. Due to strict Italian laws & regulations that protect officially licensed guides, our drivers can only comment and explain the sights from inside the vehicle, and are not allowed to do so once they are outside the vehicle. A Professional licensed guide, where needed, can be hired on request at an extra cost.

• Please dress respectfully for visiting religious monuments; local custom requires covering knees and shoulders.

• Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes.

• The tour sequence may be altered to avoid congestions but always covering mentioned sights.

• Keep an eye on your wallet and purses at all time. Do not wear jewerly or carry large amount of cash.

• The itinerary can be customized and coordinated directly with the driver according to your specific needs and/or preferences.

PAYMENT

• To book our services you have the choice to pay with Euro cash money at the end of service or to pre-pay the total fee by credit card via PayPal with an additional 10%. We don’t accept credit cards as a form of payment on the day of service, we only accept cash in Euros and/or US$; if US$ we will give you the exchange rate of the day before the service increased by 5 cents.

• Why we dont take CC on the day of the tour Often are drivers and tour guides do not have a POS on board. You can useyour credit card(s) at easily found ATM machines to withdraw cash. Your driver can show you where to find one. You get thecash just when you need it. The xchange rate is very convenient and it is the same rate applied when you purchase somethingwith with your Credit Card

CANCELLATION POLICY:

• No charge will be applied for cancellations made up to 7 days prior to the service date

• Cancellations made 7 days prior to the service date: 50% charge’

• Annulament made 48 hours prior to the service date: 75% charge’

• Cancellations made 24 hours of less or no show: 100% charge’
